‘Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow ‘, said Pt .Jawaharlal Nehru , the first Prime Minister of India whose birthday is celebrated as Children’s Day across India on November 14, every year. To mark this significant day, a Special Assembly, named “CHILDREN’S DAY FINALE” was conducted by the staff members of KINGS MATRIC SCHOOL in the well-illuminated and artfully decorated AK hall between 2 p.m and 3 p.m on 12-11-22.
The celebration, this year, themed as “child heroes” began with a fervent prayer song and ended with an appreciatory vote of thanks. In the mean-time, attired in their best, students from std I to XII, throughout the day, were happy and celebrated Children’s Day by participating and winning prizes in various competitions such as elocution, mono act, solo singing, fancy dressing, news reporting, rangoli designing, flower carpeting, solo dancing, imitating favourite cartoon characters and the general Quiz, anchored by Mrs B.Deepa and Mrs K.Rajalakshmi. Above all, teachers, with their dancing skills, made the students on feet with thorough enjoyment.
Uncle Colin, the Founder – Chairman gave away lovely prizes and meritorious certificates to the winners of various competitions and blessed them to have a long life and a great future ahead. He exhorted them to dream big, work hard and follow the path of honesty, truth, nobility, amity, peace and harmony. The entire celebration was colourful, beautiful, cheerful, graceful, joyful, delightful, fun-filled and successful. Laddus were distributed to the whole gathering with love. Principals of both Matric and CBSE schools were present and oversaw the whole celebrations with excitement, amusement, astonishment, entertainment and wonderment.
